Blog 23: Final Lesson Reflection

What are you most proud of in your block presentation and/or your senior project? Why?
I am most proud of my activities because they were very effective in demonstrating my answers.

(3) What worked for you in your senior project?

My mentorship really worked for me in my senior project.

(4) (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your senior project if you could go back in time?

If I had a time machine, I wouldn't go back and change anything. 

(5) Finding Value

How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors?   Be specific and use examples.

The senior project has been extremely helpful in the way that it has helped me figure out what I want my future endeavors to be. Through this project I have discovered what I want to study in college and what I want to major in. My major is gender and women's studies. Also this project helped me make connections with people that can help expand my opportunities in life as well as, not just a mentor but someone that I can look up to.

1.  What is your EQ?

How best can a person overcome the effects of domestic violence?
2.  What is your first answer? (In complete thesis statement format)

A person can best overcome the effects of domestic violence through coordinated community action.
3.  What is your second answer? (In complete thesis statement format)

A person can best overcome the effects of domestic violence through education. 
4.  List three reasons your answer is true with a real-world application for each.

It is important for victims/survivors of DV to be educated. It is important that they learn the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships, as well as the difference between caring and controlling. Often in DV relationships the victims will be confused and feel like they are/were on a roller coaster ride. Being educated on DV will help with the healing process; the cycle of violence, signs of an abuser, types of violence, they're not alone, ect.

Lesson 2 Reflection

 

1.What are you most proud of in your Lesson 2 Presentation and why?
In my Lesson 2 Presentation, I am most proud of my activity because I got a great response from my audience, it was very interactive, and tied in perfectly with my first answer. 
 2. a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 2 Presentation (self-assessment)?

     b.     Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 2 component contract.
1. I spoke for almost 20 minutes when I was only required to speak for 10

2. I had three props, when I was only required to have one

3. I references three sources, when I only was required to reference one, and two of which I brought in to show

4. I referenced my mentorship, a real life scenario, and my interview.

5. My entire presentation was almost 25 minutes and it was only required to be 20 minutes

6. I addressed my topic, my essential question, and my answer, including a detailed breakdown of my topic and answer to my EQ.
3. What worked for you in your Lesson 2?
What worked for me in my Lesson 2 was how I organized my PowerPoint, the breakdown of everything flowed very well. I also think my activity was a perfect fit for my EQ answer.
4. What didn't work? If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 2?
If I had a time machine, I would have tried to speak louder and would have done a more in depth conclusion expanding on my activity and its correlation to my answer.
5. What do you think your answer #2 is going to be?

My answer #2 is going to be Trauma Therapy.

Blog 9: Lesson 1 Reflection

1. Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your Lesson 1 Presentation and why?

In my Lesson 1 Presentation I am proud of the fact that I made time and covered an extensive amount of information in a short amount of time.

2. Questions to Consider
       a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 1 Presentation (self-assessment)?

       b.     Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 1 component contract.
I deserve a P because I had all of my three sources, my prop, had a lot of information, made eye contact, and projected so everyone could hear me.

3. What worked for you in your Lesson 1?

What worked for me in my Lesson 1 Presentation was I had laid out everything I was going to say before hand so all I had to do was just run through my sections.

4.  (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 1?

What didn't work for me was I had too much to talk about and not enough time. Because of this I was not able to show my prop and was cut short.
